Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release is finally here! But it may have fallen below the expectations of some Samsung fans.
Samsung finally took the wraps off the highly anticipated Galaxy Tab S2, but it seemed that Samsung silently released the tablet due to its not-so stellar specs and features. The availability date and price of the device remained unannounced.
The second generation of Samsung Galaxy Tab packs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box instead of Android 5.1 or 5.1.1 versions with Samsung TouchWiz on top. The tow variants of the tablet also sport smaller screen displays than their predecessors. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is available in 8-inches or 9.7-inches screen variants.
The smaller screen is reportedly to due to the request of consumers. Moreover, it is for 4:3 aspect ratio, which is apt for videos and images for business and educational purposes.
According to Android Headlines, Other features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 are Quad-HD resolution and SuperAMOLED panel technology, Exynos 533 octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB internal storage with microSD slot of up to 128GB, 8MP back camera and 2.1MP on the front.
The 8-inch model will come with a 4,000mAh battery while the 9.7-inch model comes with a larger 5,870mAh battery.
One of the advantages of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is that both tablet models will come pre-loaded with Microsoft's apps onto the tablets at purchase and ready to use upon being powered on, including OneDrive with a free 100GB of cloud storage for two years, according to Samsung-centric website SamMobile.
Moreover, unlike the previous Samsung Galaxy Tab S, the second generation comes with more premium body design and metal frame.
