The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region official website announced on Friday that the Hong Kong Heritage Museum will be featuring a new installment in the Bruce Lee collection series.
The exhibit showcasing the works of the legendary martial artist includes the first edition of the "Chinese Gung Fu."
Also to be made available for public viewing is the Lee-autographed "The Philosophical Art of Self-Defense," movie trailer reels of box-office hits such as "Fist of Fury" and "The Big Boss," behind-the-scene photos of "Enter the Dragon," along with several other film stills and posters.
The new collection, with a theme "A Collection of Insights, Memories and Pride," will be displayed as part of the five-year thematic exhibit, "Brruce Lee: Kung Fu Art Life." It will showcase over 200 sets of items from San Francisco-based collector Jeff Chinn.
The thematic Bruce Lee exhibit was launched in July 2013 and has since then received good reviews from visitors. It features more than 600 Lee memorabilia that are on loan from a number of domestic and foreign collectors, groups and institutions.
The exhibition paves the way to introduce Lee's great achievements and contributions to the public. It is also an avenue by which viewers can learn more of the martial arts legend through the collector's eyes.
Lee is a Hong Kong American martial artist and is considered by critics and commentators as one of the most influential icons in his field. He is also an action film actor, a martial arts instructor and a filmmaker.
Hailing from Chinatown, San Francisco, many media experts and personalities also regard him as one of the most important persons who changed the way Asians are presented in American movies.
