Ángel Di María had failed to adjust to the Premier League in his first season with Manchester United and speculations arose that the Argentine winger is requesting a transfer less than a year after his British record £59.7 million signing with the Old Trafford giants.
United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly open to his request as the Dutch mentor is targeting a couple of forwards from other clubs to reinforce them next season.
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are said to be the top squad that is interested in the services of the 5-foot-10 attacking midfielder and the team is confident that they will be able to snag Di María before the new season starts, as per Mirror.
Les Parisiens offered only £40 million for Di María's transfer, considerably less than what the Red Devils spent for him, but van Gaal may approve of the deal as he is determined to form a new team that is reportedly designed to win the English league next season.
So far, United had already spent a significant amount in the transfers of defender Matteo Darmian from Torino, forward Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven, and midfielders Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton and Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich.
The four newcomers are currently showcased in the 2015 International Champions Cup friendliness in the US. United recently beat Mexican team Club América, 1-0, in the tourney with Schneiderlin scoring the lone goal and the squad not showing any chemistry issues.
ESPN reported that van Gaal is targeting forwards Pedro of Barcelona, Thomas Müller of Bayern, and Gareth Bale of Real Madrid this summer, which explains why he is readily agreeable with Di María's exit.
