Samsung recently announced that they will be launching a pair of new Android tablets, departing from old models and taking some inspiration from the design of Apple's iPads.
The new Galaxy Tab S2 from the South Korean tech giant comes in 9.7-inch and 8-inch sizes, and weigh in at just 265g and 389g, respectively. Samsung’s Mobile division CEO and president JK Shin said that these two new tablets are the company’s slimmest tablet yet with just a 5.6mm thickness, Business Insider reported.
Galaxy Tab S2 sports Super AMOLED display with 2048 x 1536 screen resolution. It features a home button on the long side, and a fingerprint scanner built in. The tablet’s display is said to be calibrated to the Adobe RGB color standard and will feature advanced Adaptive Display technology. This technology allows the tablet’s display to adjust dynamically and optimize the screen setting depending on the lighting conditions.
The new tablet runs under Android 5.0 Lollipop, and powered by an unspecified 64-bit octo-core processor, pairing up with four 1.9GHz cores. It has 3GB of RAM and available in 32 or 64GB of internal memory. The latter internal memory is expandable to 128GB using microSD card. The new tablet is expected to have an impressive multimedia features such as watching videos and films. Galaxy Tab S2 will have an 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera, according to Tech Crunch.
Galaxy Tab S2 also features performance and stability upgrades. It will also have a protection security service, making it easier for the users to remotely lock or factory reset when the device is lost or stolen.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is expected to go on sale worldwide next August.
