In just a few days the New England Patriots training camp will begin, but there's still no word on whether Tom Brady will be suiting up for the first four games of the 2015 NFL Season.
In a recent interview, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell revealed that he is focused on reviewing Brady's appeal to reverse the decision regarding his suspension.
The Patriots quarterback was suspended for four games after an investigating committee concluded that Brady was aware of the "Deflategate" conspiracy wherein footballs were deflated in their match against the Indianapolis Colts.
"We are focused on it," Goodell said during a fundraiser at Southpointe, quoted Trib Live.
"We are obviously being very thorough and want to make sure we consider all aspects of his appeal."
While the commissioner confirmed that his office will "make a decision as quickly as possible," he did not reveal any specific timeframe for the resolution to be released.
"There is no timeline. We want to make sure we have a fair and open process," Goodell confirmed.
According to CBS Sports, should Goodell uphold his initial decision to suspend the athlete for four games, Brady and the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) will bring the case to federal court.
Training camp for the Patriots will start on July 23 for the rookies and July 29 for veterans, NESN noted.
Should the QB be allowed to play, the 2015 NFL champions will face the Pittsburgh Steelers for the first game of the NFL season on September 10, 2015 Thursday at home.
