Notable TV personality, Jimmy Fallon was seen on New York without a cast on his injured finger.
"The Tonight Show" host on Wednesday was spotted with just a bandage on his ring finger, after getting injured on June 26 while he was in his apartment, People magazine reported. The injury caused Fallon to miss his "Tonight Show" for two weeks.
Fallon's first appearance on TV without a cast on his left hand was on July 20, Monday during the episode of his show.
The host tweeted the detail of how he injured his ring finger on his left hand. Fallon said that he got slipped by a rug but caught his fall which was a good thing. Unfortunately, the ring caught the side of the table which almost ripped his ring finger. The TV personality further detailed the incident during the July 13th episode of his show and stated that he suffered ring avulsion and needed surgery to repair the finger.
Fallon said that the procedure was six hours as the doctor removed a vein from his foot and placed it in his finger by connecting the damaged tissue. The host further added that his finger could have been cut off but instead choosed the intensive procedure.
The host spent 10 days on intensive care and it is expected that he would not feel anything on his ring finger for eight weeks, Reuters reported. Fallon expressed gratitude to the medical staff who made the surgery and to his fans who voiced their support.
The 40-year-old even made an emotional statement, saying to his audience that the meaning of his life is on TV and to make the people laugh which received a large applause from his audience.
On Tuesday, July 21, Fallon played a slapjack game against "Southpaw" star Jack Gyllenhaal to show the improvement of his injured hand. The host even made fun of his hand as he used a prosthetic giant hand to smack Gyllenhaal in the face. After three rounds, Fallon eventually wins the game, slapping Gyllenhaal in the face with his giant hand twice.
Fallon has a history of getting his hand injured as two years ago, Fallon also injured his hand as he almost sliced his own finger while preparing a Salsa.
The TV personality is expected to make a full recovery and has been back as host of "The Tonight Show" since July 13. During his absence, the NBC showed replay episodes of Fallon's show.
