The latest “House of Cards” season 4 spoilers hinted that Doug Stamper may be killed off from the Netflix original series. Executive producer Beau Willimon is no stranger to killing off major characters, evident in previous seasons, which is why this twist may no longer come as a surprise to many.
Doug (Michael Kelly) was almost killed in season 2 when Rachel Posner (Rachel Brosnahan) knocked him in the head. Some fans thought that they have seen the last of him but he survived the near-death experience. Kelly's character even got his revenge on Rachel in the season 3 finale when he seemingly buried her alive.
According to Christian Today, Doug may not be as lucky come season 4. Kelly hinted that fans are up for a surprising twist in the coming episodes, which has allegedly something to do with Rachel and Doug's feud.
It was said that executive producers were thinking of killing another major character in order to spice things in season 4. Although it is still unclear on who that character may be, many speculate that Doug will finally meet his match in the premiere.
Meanwhile, Willimon refused to reveal further spoilers on what one can expect in "House of Cards" season 4. Speaking to BBC, the showrunner shared that as much as possible, he avoids revealing information about future episodes. He said that it is always best to keep the viewers guessing.
Willimon added that there are times when they completely change a script at a moment's notice when they are struck with a new idea. He shared that the writers will not hesitate to kill off a major character if the story demands it.
