Treyarch Studios has announced that the open beta for the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will be released on Aug. 19, for PlayStation 4.
According to Ubergizmo, there are plans for the Xbox One and PC beta release, but the beta will first be available for PS4 only. To access the beta, PlayStation 4 gamers will have to pre-order the game. The user will have the right to participate in the beta only by pre-purchase, which will grant them an access code.
According to the official Call of Duty website, the beta will provide a chance for the player to experience the game prior to the retail launch. It will not be a full version of the game and specific details about what it will contain will be revealed later. It will last for five days in total.
"Black Ops 3" will be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, on November 6. There is also the possibility of release for other consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game will introduce a new zombie mode, a single-player campaign and a multiplayer.
The zombie mode will follow two storylines. One story will follow a group of new characters who will have to fight zombies led by the Shadow Man. This zombie mode will have the title "Shadows of Evil." It will come with a full story with voices of Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, Ron Perlman, Jeff Goldblum and Robert Picardo.
Story two will follow alternate versions of the original characters. It story will pick up where the "Origins" left off in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. This story will feature Tank Dempsey as Steven Blum, Edward Richtofen as Nolan North, Takeo Masaki as Tom Kane and Nikolai Belinski as Fred Tatasciore. Apart from the story modes, the Zombie mode will also offer a multiplayer mode.
The single-player campaign will take place in 2065 where the advancement in technology and science has altered the human race as well as the landscape. The battles will be led by supersoldiers and humans have taken on the looks of machines. Given the circumstances, the humans will be afraid of a hostile takeover from robots. The player will be able to operate a Black Ops supersoldier.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will offer a new Multiplayer movement system called Specialists. Players will be able to choose between different soldiers who have different powers. They will also have the option of weapons customization and a Camo designer.
