It seems like Sony is gearing up its much-awaited next flagship device Sony Xperia Z5 to be used in the upcoming movie “Spectre,” which stars Daniel Craig as James Bond.
According to a couple of images, more likely pending PR material, that was leaked online, the company’s yet to be announced Xperia smartphone will be seen in the upcoming James Bond movie, as the device is being marketed as “Made for Bond,” as reported by Digi-Wo.
The said device is not confirmed to be Xperia Z5 as the image has the letter between Xperia and 5 blurred out. But that has not stopped the rumor mill from churning out reports suggesting it to be the next generation device, as Sony is expected to have only key product made for the Bond.
However, this is not the first instance for Sony smartphone to be used in a Bond movie as there is a history between the company and James Bond franchise. In the movie “Quantum of Solace,” James Bond was seen using a Sony Ericsson C902 smartphone, while in “Skyfall,” it was Sony Xperia T in Craig's hands, according to Ubergizmo.
The long-rumored Xperia Z5 release has been speculated to happen in September along with Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Ultra devices. The flagship device will reportedly pack yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 820 chipset, coupled with 4GB RAM and run on a 4,500mAh battery. The device is rumored to sport a 21-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor, with 4K video recording support and HDR capabilities.
Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z5 smartphone at the IFA 2015 trade fair to be held in early September. However, rumor has it that the device will not be available until the “Spectre” movie release on Nov. 6.
