After fighting for her life for the past few months, Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of the late legendary singer Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, passed away on July 26, Sunday. She was 22.
The news of the celebrity child's death was confirmed by a representative of the Houston family in a statement.
"Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family," said the family's rep, who further thanked "everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support," CNN reported.
Born on March 4, 1993, in New Jersey, Bobbi Kristina was thrust in the public limelight since her infancy owing to the superstar status of her late mother and the tumultuous relationship of her parents. At the age of 10, the celebrity child was featured on the 2005 reality show series "Being Bobby Brown," which was deemed as controversial depiction of the singer couple's troubled life.
Following a slew of domestic violence and drug abuse accusations, Houston got divorced from Bobby in 2007 and was awarded the full custody of Bobbi Kristina. She often made public appearances together with her star mother and even accompanied her on tours.
Houston's death in 2012 proved to be a huge blow to the celebrity child who reported to be present at the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel where the late singer was found drowned in the bathtub. The then-18-year-old reportedly suffered a hysterical breakdown and had to seek immediate medical help to deal with the tragedy, E! News reported.
Following her mother's death, Bobbi Kristina became the sole inheritor of $115 million estate and became emotionally dependent on the adopted son of her mother, Nick Gordon, who used to live in the same house.
On Jan. 31, Bobbi Kristina was found face down in the bathtub of her Georgia condo under mysterious circumstances. She was placed in a medically induced coma, but never regained consciousness since then. After a brain specialist told the Houston-Brown family that she cannot be recovered ever owing to the irreversible brain damage, the celebrity child was brought to Greenpeace Hospice care on June 24.
