Paris Saint-Germain offered £45 million for the transfer of Argentine winger Ángel Di María and Manchester United have reportedly agreed to the amount, as per Metro.
Rumors have said that the deal would include PSG forward Edinson Cavani, but official reports cleared that the Ligue 1 champions are keen on keeping the Uruguayan striker to join with Di María and Zlatan Ibrahimović in a three forward attack up front.
The 27-year-old Di María was signed by Louis van Gaal from Real Madrid in August of last year for a five-year deal that came together with a British-record payment of £59.7 million, the fifth largest transfer fee in history.
The attacking midfielder started his Red Devils' stint strong, scoring three goals in his first two months with the team while also making a couple of assists. However, his form began to falter after suffering a hamstring injury in November 2014. Since then he managed to score only a single goal and van Gaal had been playing him for only limited minutes.
Off-field issues regarding domestic life in England finally pushed the Argentina international to call it quits with the Premier League squad.
Speculations abound that Di María is scheduled to go through a medical this week in New York City to join his new teammates who are in the United States competing in the current International Champions Cup.
However, the Independent reported that Di María will not likely appear in PSG's next ICC friendly match at the Soldier Field in Chicago against Manchester United itself on Wednesday, July 29, as the Rosario native was said to be still unfit after an extended vacation.
