"Only One" hit maker Kanye West seem to have lost his cool on July 26, Sunday, when he tossed his mic in the air and stormed off the stage during his headlining performance Pan Am Games closing ceremony in Toronto after facing some technical difficulty.

Recent reports state that the rapper was 13 minutes into his high energy performance when his mic cut out, New York Daily News reported. Until then, the crowd was on its feet owing to the rapper's blistering delivery of medley including hits "Stronger," "Black Skinhead" and "Gold Digger."

Suddenly the 40, 000 strong roaring crowd fell silent as the rapper, who was reportedly facing the technical difficulties throughout the performance, got apparently frustrated and threw his microphone into the sky, before storming off the stage while it plummeted to the ground. He was about to finish "Gold Digger."

Soon after CBC Olympics tweeted that West's microphone had cut out inside Toronto's Rogers Centre though those enjoying the broadcast version of Kanye's performance could still hear him properly.

Meanwhile, Pam Am Games official appeared amusingly confused and suspected that West's abrupt exit from the stage was part of some act as "he's such a creative guy," CBC Sports reported.

The rapper, who was dressed in casually in blue shirt and ripped jeans for the event, is yet to comment on the matter.

Just like the controversy surrounding his headline slot at Glastonbury last month,  West inclusion in the performance Pan Am Games closing ceremony was opposed by many, who even started a petition to get organisers to remove him from the bill and wanted a Canadian musician to perform at his place.
