Samsung is currently rolling out the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to several Galaxy smartphones such as Galaxy S6. Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and more.
After the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, Google will be directly rolling out the Android M OS. The incremental update brings several bug fixes and performance improvements.
Samsung Galaxy S6 And Galaxy S6 Edge
The Android 5.1.1 OTA Update is now available for the Galaxy S6 with build number G920FXXU2BOG8. For the Galaxy S6 Edge users, the build number G925FXXU2BOGB is available, Sam Mobile reported. The size of the update is around 230 MB.
In the United States, the update is already made available for both the handsets on T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular. However, the most recent Android available for Verizon and AT&T users is the Android 5.1 update.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
At the beginning of this month, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Galaxy Note 4 handsets in Russia. Since then it was rumored that the update would be available across the globe by the end of July. Hence, the Galaxy Note 4 users are likely to receive it next month, Venture Capital Post reported.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
Rogers Wireless of Canada has officially declared that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will arrive in August. Hence, global users are expected to receive the update August onwards.
Samsung Galaxy S5
The Android 5.1.1 update has begun in the United States for T-Mobile users. In France, the SFR telecom operator had also declared that the Android 5.1.1 will be released for Galaxy S5 users soon. However, it has not revealed the date yet.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
The Galaxy Note 3 phablet from 2013 is currently running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. There is no confirmation on when the most recent Android build will arrive for the Note 3.
