"Paper Towns" star Cara Delevingne was both criticized and praised for her behavior during a recent interview with "Good Day Sacramento" where she was called Carla and asked if she has read the book written by John Green, on which her recent film was based.
Among those who defended Delevingne was Green himself. In an essay he wrote on Medium, the "Paper Towns" author pointed out, "I am friends with Cara, and the author of the book in question. I spent more than a month with her on tour in Europe and the U.S., and I watched as again and again, she was asked this question."
For those who criticize Delevingne for "responding flippantly to a stupid question," Green said "context might be helpful." He also pointed out that the same question is being asked to Delevingner and her "Paper Towns" co-star Nat Wolff in different ways.
Confirming that Delevingne has read the "Paper Towns" book multiple times, Green wrote, "The question is annoying, not least because her male costar, Nat Wolff, was almost always asked when he'd read the book, while Cara was almost always asked if she'd read it."
Meanwhile, Wolff recently confirmed that he is friends with Delevingne is real life. In an interview with Twist magazine, Shailene Woodley's "The Fault In Out Stars" co-star said, "We all live right next to each other and we spend every single second together so we kind of have manufactured, which just happened naturally."
Joining Delevingne and Wolff in "Paper Towns" are Austin Abrams, Justice Smith, Halston Sage, Jaz Sinclair, Cara Buono, Josiah Cerio, Hannah Alligood, Meg Crosbie, Griffin Freeman, Caitlin Carver and RJ Shearer, among others.
