John Cena will be missing the action of the WWE for the next few weeks after the wrestler broke his nose on Monday Night Raw. The Champ underwent surgery and needs to recover.
Cena, who suffered a gruesome injury in the hands of Seth Rollins on Monday, had to undergo an "emergency surgery" on Tuesday, WrestleZone noted. The surgery aimed to correct some breathing issues the fighter has been suffering from since the incident.
The site also added that the fighter could also go under the knife a second time for reconstructive surgery. While photos immediately after the injury surfaced online, no images from the surgery have been revealed. It is still unknown what the state of Cena's nose is.
"Medical advice is for the top WWE star to miss several weeks of in-ring action. But one source talking about his toughness and in regards to the recommended time of rest to let his nose heal said, "It's John Cena, you never know," WrestleZone noted.
Because of the injury and the surgery, the United States Champion has been pulled from all WWE events over the weekend as well as Monday Night Raw's episode in San Jose, Caifornia, PWInsider reported.
There is still no timetable for the recovery of the Hustle, Loyalty, Respect fighter and it is still unknown if Cena will be making an appearance at WWE's Australia tour from August 6 to 8. The wrestling company was scheduled to bring its shows to the Land Down Under.
"The Australian tour was scheduled for August 6 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, August 7 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, and August 8 at the Qantas Credit Union Arena," the Australia Network News reported.
John Cena broke his nose last Monday's WWE Raw episode after Seth Rollins kneed him to the face. Cena still ended the show with a win.
