HTC updated their flagship this year with the feature-packed One M9, which will be further advanced by the upcoming Android M update. However, users of HTC's former flagship were worried that they will be left out.
The good news is, HTC Vice President for Product Management Mo Versi, confirmed that the latest android update will be available for One M8, Phone Arena reported.
HTC's former flagship rolled out with Android KitKat 4.0. The latest update had been for Lollipop 5.0.2. The company had given no word on the 5.1 or 5.1.1 update so consumers are assuming that they will be led straight to Android M.
Android M will be fixing two glitches for One M8 users; dwindling Bluetooth connectivity and poor battery performance. The update's Doze feature can delete all previous Bluetooth connections to make the tool more efficient. It can also kill background processes to extend the battery life. The technology also is expected to fix other bugs and improve the overall performance of the phone.
Final Name for Android M
Figuring out the next Android name had been everybody's favorite guessing game. Android developers were dessert lovers so they started naming Android updates after sweets. The current roster includes Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jellybean, KitKat, and the latest, Lollipop.
Recently, Google's David Burke was spotted with an inverted milkshake silhouette on his watch causing people to conclude that the next tech dessert is milkshake. Burke has denied the allegation already, causing speculators to list other names such as Marshmallow, M&Ms, and Macadamia Nut Cookie.
Predictions for the upcoming series of names include Nougat, Oreo, Peppermint, Queen Cake, Rocky Road, Strawberry Shortcake, Tofi, Upside-Down-Cake, Vanilla, Waffle Cone, Xmas Cookies, Yogurt, and Zebra Cake, Phandroid reported.
