The $10 million private aircraft Embraer Phenom 300 crashed killing three members of Osama Bin Laden's family in Hampshire. Flight data showed that the aircraft reached the airfield flying at 1,250 feet and increased its altitude at 1,750 feet which is critical to a landing plane.
According to Mail Online, the pilot, Mazen Al Doaja, steered the aircraft towards the runway and he pushed the jet into a steep dive of 3000 feet per minute. Aviation experts wondered how an experienced pilot continued an approach when aircraft was not properly lined up on the runway.
The data showed using the flight monitoring software called ADS-B said that the jet was flying in an unusual pattern before it lands.
The Managing Director of AvGen Ltd. Dave Reid said that they monitored the aircraft using the Heathrow Airport. After the accident in Blackbushe, they decided to see if they goth data from the Phenom 300 which is broadcasted by commercial aircraft.
There was no report of any injuries on the ground. The Embraer Phenom 300 jet flipped over and crashed around 20 cars in an adjacent auction site. Reports said that this is the third time that Bin Laden family have been killed in a plane crash, The Telegraph.
In 1967, Osama's father, Mohammed Bin Laden was killed when his Beechcraft 18 crashed on a landing strip near Usran in Saudi Arabia. It has the same tail-fin number HZ-IBN as the Embraer. In 1988, Salem Bin Laden, brother of Osama also died when his jet dived into the high-voltage power lines in Texas.
Osama was convicted as the head of the 9-11 terrorist attack. He was killed during the US Navy official operation on May 2, 2011 in Pakistan.
