According to various reports, the tech giant Google will introduce the two new variants of the Nexus this year. One is the successor to the present Nexus 6 and the other is the successor of Nexus 5. With Samsung and Apple getting ready to launch their flagships this fall, people are inclined to believe that Google will do the same in a bid to battle with the major players in the industry.
Samsung may release its flagship phablet Galaxy Note 5 somewhere in September and Apple may launch its flagship smartphone Apple iPhone 6S in the same month.
Several reports suggest that one Nexus smartphone will be made by the Chinese manufacturer Huawei and the other will be made by LG, according to Android Police. Furthermore, Google will launch its new Nexus smartphone alongside Android M.
LG has codenamed its 2015 Nexus 5 model 'Bullhead' and the smartphone is anticipated to feature a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. According to rumors, the upcoming Nexus smartphone will have better features and specifications than the present Nexus flagship device. Rumors suggest that the handset will have a 5MP front-facing shooter and a 13MP primary camera.
Reports indicate that the device will be powered by Snapdragon 808 processor. However, if the launch of the LG Nexus 5 (2015) is pushed to later this year then we may witness the device as being the first smartphone to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset.
According to reports, the upcoming device will be affordable like its predecessors. It is believed that the Nexus 5 2015 will be priced below $500, Geek Snack reported. The 2015 Nexus 5 will have a 2700mAh battery.
