One of the devices smartphone filmmakers may consider is the upcoming successor of the Motorola Nexus 6 codenamed Shamu, which has a 4128 x 3096 pixels resolution. Both the LG and Huawei versions of the Google Nexus 5 2015 camera are said to have a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
Like the Motorola Nexus 6, the Google Nexus 5 2015 is expected to have a 13MP primary camera. The LG version codenamed Angler will reportedly have a 5.2-inch display and a 5MP front-facing shooter while the Huawei version codenamed Bullhead will have a 5.7-inch touchscreen
The Google Nexus 5 2015 is likely to be as affordable as the Motorola Nexus 6, which has 2160p@30fps and optical stabilization, and will compete against the iPhone 6S. It is yet to be determined if the LG and Huawei versions of Google Nexus 5 2015 camera have the quality that will make smartphone filmmakers choose them over iPhone 6S.
Meanwhile, here are three of the best smartphone film festivals in the world:
Toronto Smartphone Film Festival (TSFF)

iPhone Film Festival (IFF)
The IFF accepts short films, which are shorter than three minutes, and feature films, which are longer than three minutes. It is required that 70 percent of the film is shot with mobile device inculing iPhone, GoPro, HTC, Nokia and Samsung Galaxy.
