A teenager who used a dating application was found guilty under sex offender law and will suffer the corresponding penalties of being placed on sex offender registry. The boy had sex with a girl that he did not know was an underage.
Zack Anderson is a 19 year old guy from Elkhart, Indiana. Zack met the girl, who lived in Michigan, on the dating application "Hot or Not?" According to KTLA 5, the girl lied about her age. She said she is 17 but the truth is she was only 14 years old.
Zack was convicted and sentenced by Judge Dennis Wiley to be imprisoned for 90 days, to have probation of five years and he was placed on the sex offender's registry for Michigan and Indiana. He will remain on the registry for 25 years.
The girl wrote an apology letter to Zack's family and she admitted in court that she lied about her age. He was still defenseless against the latest sex offender laws although the girl admitted that she lied and she has given her testimony on consensual sex.
According to The Guardian, the sex offender registry contains records of those who are guilty of sexual offense against children or adults from the Sept 1997. The police runs the registry and the crimes committed below the given date were not recorded on the registry.
All information regarding the convicts was registered. The police are systematically notified of every change on the convict's data including change of names, change addresses or if a convict stays away from home for more than seven days.
