With the downfall of Reiss monarchy and the coronation of Historia Reiss as the true ruler of the Walls, the Survey Corps are all set to spearhead humanity's counterattack on the titans. After five long years of waiting, Eren, Mikasa and Armin are ready to embark a perilous journey that should take them into Grisha Yeager's basement where the mystery of the world is waiting to be unlocked.
The English version of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) Chapter 72 hasn't yet been posted on any major Manga portals, but leakages and spoilers are all over the Internet. And thanks to the combined effort of two avid AoT readers (Yusenki and Thirsty Levi), everybody can have a glimpse of the plot before the full chapter become available online.
The Secret Lying Deep into the Basement:
Hange and Erwin Smith delved deeper into their theory that Grisha Yeager was originally outside the wall, taking into the account Keith Shadis' revelation to Eren about finding his father roaming outside Wall Maria 20 years ago. But unlike Annie, Bertholt and Reiner, Yeager wanted to support the Wall and its citizens.
The high ranking Survery Corps officials also talked about what could possibly be waiting for them in Yeager's basement, although Smith already had a feeling that it's something that would unlock the memory about the world which was wiped out by the first King through the power of the coordinate.
"Things that he couldn't say. No...I think what Grisha wanted to say but couldn't might be that the "memory about the world" was erased by the first king. But even though we're speculating about it, we won't be able to get the real answer."
"Erwin look everyone in the eyes. He said that preparations to reclaim Wall Maria will be finished in two days."
Hungry/Potato Girl at it Again!
The 104th squad had perhaps their last taste of meat before they set off to their mission of retaking Wall Maria. As usual, Sasha Blouse just couldn't be stopped in eating all the stakes available to the point her squad members had to apprehend her.
"Eren and the rest of the 104th squad were in the dining room. They all were gifted with meat as an appreciation gift before going on the expedition to reclaim Wall Maria."
Jean: "You bitch, potato girl!"
Sasha: "Uhh..." [trying to quickly swallow all the meat]
Jean: "Do you understand what you're trying to do?"
Sasha was so obsessed with the meat, she ended up biting Jean's arm thinking it was food.
Jean: "AHHH!"
Connie: "Sasha?! That meat is Jean's arm! Can't you recognize that anymore?"
The Final Plan to Reclaim Wall Maria Starts Now!
It all comes down to this. After losing hundreds upon hundreds of survey corps members to the Titans, Erwin Smith, despite losing one of his arms in previous battle, stepped in to lead humanity's one final counter-attack with the goal of reclaiming what they lost in Wall Maria and once for all, finding an end to all of these.
"Everyone is surprised to see that the expedition includes Erwin, and this is the first time he has seen people be excited and supportive of their expedition."
"Erwin surprised Levi, Eren, and the rest of the soldiers with his shout "UOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" [he is very spirited now]. "The final plan to reclaim Wall Maria starts now! ADVANCE!!!"
