The cause of the death of rapper Sean Price remains unknown, according to the representative of the 43-year-old musician. He appeared to have died in his sleep in his Brooklyn apartment on Saturday, August 8.
Duck Down Music confirmed the passing away of Sean Price in a statement to E! News. Sean left behind his wife and three children.
Musicians immediately posted their condolences to Sean's family through social media.
In a tweet on Saturday afternoon, Macklemore said he was so sad with Sean's death, adding, "He was a huge inspiration to me." Ice-T said the rapper died "Waaaay too soon," which was echoed by "Saturday Night Live" star Peter Davidson who said, "RIP to the legend Sean Price. Gone way too soon."
Sean, who rose to fame when he joined Heltah Skeltah with Jahmal Bush and later became a part of Boot Camp Clik, has three albums in his name. He was slated to release a mixtape later this August titled "Song in the Key of Price."
"Monkey Barz," his first solo album, was released in 2005 on Duck Down Records. The last one was "Mic Tyson" released in 2012. Besides the mixtape, Sean was also collaborating with III Bill, another rapper, on an album titled "The Pill" which has no word yet on its release date, reports Billboard.
But beyond his music, fans of the rapper remember his kindness, in and out of the limelight. Rapsody summed it up with his tweet that Sean was a "big man with a big heart and big sense of humor.
