The mobile manufacturer Samsung was amongst the first to update Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on many of its devices. Here is the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop release news for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S5.
Users with unlocked Samsung devices received their updates first. Now the question that arises is that when carriers will begin rolling out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to subscribers with locked devices.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
The South Korea-based Samsung has not rolled out an Android 5.1.1 update for the Note Edge. However, Canadian service provider Rogers disclosed that the Lollipop update will be available by August.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has yet to get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. According to a SamMobile report, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was being tested on the Note 4. However, there has been no information supporting a mass release of Android 5.1.1. This does not mean that the Note 4 will not get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in the future. At present, further information regarding this update remains elusive.
Samsung Galaxy S5
The mobile carrier T-Mobile has rolled out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5. Other U.S. carriers have yet to confirm plans to roll out the Android update on their versions of the Galaxy S5.
Samsung Galaxy S6 And Galaxy S6 Edge
Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular service plans have rolled out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop updates for the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6. However, the mobile carriers Verizon and AT&T have not released similar Android 5.1.1 Lollipop updates. It is not known whether the two carriers plan to release Android update in the future.
