Lefevre further added that MTV is thrilled with the viewers' response to the TV adaptation of the "Scream" movie franchise. Bob Weinstein, the co-chairman of the Weinstein Company and Dimension Films, assured the viewers that there will be more scares, surprises, romance and kills in "Scream: The TV Series" Season 2.

"We couldn't be happier ‘Scream' has been renewed for a second season," Weinstein stated in a Variety report. Weinstein also admitted that he and his team have a wonderful working relationship with Mina Lefevre and her team, Doug Herzog, Susanne Daniels and Stephen Friedman.

When asked how can "Scream: The TV Series" survive another season because characters are getting killed, executive producer Jaime Paglia explained to Variety before the show's premiere that the story is made for television through a certain level of planning and sophistication. Paglia added that the show needed a killer that could contend with the intelligent psychopaths of other TV shows like "Hannibal," "American Horror Story," "The Following" and "Dexter."

"This is not a killer who is going to take risks," Paglia teased. In the upcoming new episode of "Scream: The TV Series," lead female character Emma Duvall (Willa Fitzgerald) will be racing against time in saving Will Belmont (Connor Weil) from the Ghostface killer's dangerous game of hide-and-seek.

"Scream: The TV Series" episode 7 titled "In the Trenches" will air on Tuesday night, Aug. 11, at 10/9c on MTV. The finale episode of the pilot season is scheduled to air on Sept. 1.
