"The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6 is set to premiere in October, 2015. Meanwhile, spoilers and speculations are running rampant. New reports suggest possible new romances for two lead characters, Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon and Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes. Read on to find out the details. [Warning: Possible spoiler ahead!]
"The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6 rumours indicate the possibility of a romance between Daryl and Carol Peletier, the fan-favourite character played by Melissa McBride. Carol and Daryl share a great bond. This has viewers wondering if there could be more to their relationship.
In an interview with TV Line at Comic Con 2015, the actress talked about Daryl and Carol's "incredible connection and bond that they are sharing since first season" of "The Walking Dead."
"I think the first encounter between the two of them we saw as viewers, there is something interesting going on," the actress added.
She even explained how Daryl and Carol have developed an understanding for each other as they share similar past.
"I think they understand each other. That will always be there. They lean on each other," Melissa McBride told the publication.
Additionally, speculations suggest Rick and Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) might be getting together as a couple in "The Walking Dead" (TWD) Season 6. After Jessie's husband Pete's death, Jessie is speculated to be drawn towards Rick, who also happens to be the killer of her husband.
During the interview, Andrew Lincoln said his character Rick is "ready to love again." Several media outlets are speculating that Pete's death may have set a platform for Rick and Jessie to explore their relationship.
"I think he's been restraining himself towards the end of last season to try and be part of this community... And certainly she, Jessie, is one of the main reasons that he changes and softens and starts to believe that this is a viable future," Andrew Lincoln explained.
However, the actor believes "it's tough dating in the apocalypse."
Rumours about Rick and Jessie's romance have been swirling around ever since Jessie first appeared in "The Walking Dead" Season 5. Back in March, The Hollywood Reporter tried to extract details about Rick and Jessie's future from Alexandra. However, the actress refused to give away too many details.
But it must be noted, in the comics, Jessie ends up developing romantic feelings for Rick. How it plays out on the show remains to be seen.
