Popular social media application, Snapchat, gives users new features and added emoticons in their latest update release.
Video and photo messaging application, Snapchat, has been updated recently with new features such as the Sticker Picker, a new emoji panel, that lets people place emojis and other emoticons all over the picture or video instead of being in the message bar.
A new mode also has been released, named Travel Mode, that lets the user use the app without incurring large data fees on cellular, by preventing the app to preload and download images and videos in the Friend's Storyline, Discover, and the Live Story bars, according to New York Daily News.
Alongside this, a unique feature has been added called the 'Trophy Case' where in users can gain new emojis to use by completing a set of tasks like avoiding to use the flash of the front camera and others.
However, in a review by The Independent, this new feature is not functioning and has unclear instruction, of usage, with bottle of beer and flashlights littered across the tab with no specific rewards being seen.
The update will also allow people to use video files when exporting Snapcodes, customized QR codes, and share animated versions or still pictures of their Snapcodes on other social networking sites. The Snapcodes will be shared as videos, spanning over 5 seconds.
Other subtleties have been added to the update such as letting users see who has viewed the individual's snaps in their Snapchat Stories, which can be accessed by followers. Restrictions on the amount of emojis that can be placed have been also added in the update.
The mobile app has already made other changes before in other updates to increase usage, like seeing who talk to you the most.
Apple and Android users can avail of the newest update.
