With the Galaxy Note 5 release date this 2015, Samsung is reclaiming the phablet throne snatched away by Apple's iPhone 6 Plus in late 2014. Now unboxed, it appears that the fifth-gen flagship phablet if fully equipped to outpace the 6 Plus, perhaps even the iPhone 6S Plus.
Here are the five ways that the Note 5 can easily defeat its iOS rival:
Powerful S Pen stylus
The S Pen is a Samsung Note phablet signature that has no equal on the iPhone 6 Plus side though Apple fans can pair a third-party with the device. However, what can be accomplished is no match compared to the incredible things that S Pen alone can do.
According to Business Insider, the S Pen is the quick shortcut to applications that require stylus functions. A simple tap of a key on the tool will launch the necessary apps. The S Pen also allows the writing of notes on a sleeping Note 5 screen, which then saves the doc created for later use.
Home screen widgets
Widgets have been an Android mainstay that Samsung makes good use of. Users easily access information like stock market and weather updates, or perform task through this floating icons that occupy a premium space on the Note 5.
Apple finally caught on this with the iOS 8-powered iPhone 6 Plus but is currently limited within the confines of the notification menu. It remains to be seen if iOS 9 on the 6S Plus will allow widgets to be placed on the new iPhone home screen.
Mobile multi-tasking
The ability to view and work on two windows at the same time has been a Samsung standard via the Multi-Window function. The Note 5 and its predecessors only optimized the feature's productivity benefits mainly due to the large screen and S Pen.
Multitasking is rumored too to be coded with iOS 9 but the latest rumors say only the iPad users are bound to enjoy the feature.
Video streaming directly from camera app
Remote live broadcast is now an integral part of the Galaxy Note 5 via the camera application. Users would only need to pull up the Note 5 cam, log in to their YouTube accounts and their good to go. And with the latest Samsung phablet too, launching the camera app is easier than ever. The app is immediately activated by just double tapping the Note 5 home button.
Quick wireless charging
Like the Galaxy S6 before it, the Galaxy Note 5 is supercharged to swiftly power up in just 30 minutes of charging and the same feature applies to the wireless charging. Even when not hooked up to a wall power socket, the premium phablet resting on a wireless charging pad speedily re-stocks on power juice.
At the moment, the iPhone 6 Plus lacks this capability but it should be interesting if Apple will provide a better version via the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus release date that likely will happen as early as September 2015.
