Aliens or extra terrestrial beings are usually stuff of science fiction and Hollywood movies, however, real life former NASA astronaut, Edgar Mitchell is claiming that aliens are real.
The Apollo 14 astronaut is the sixth man to walk on the surface of the moon apparently told the Mirror Online that he believes that aliens have already visited Earth to prevent nuclear war between Russia and the United States where these aliens' purpose was to maintain galactic peace.
This idea seems bizarre and even far out but Mitchell is claiming that insiders from the military have observed strange alien craft flying over U.S. military bases such as the one in White Sands, New Mexico which is also where the first ever nuclear bomb was detonated in 1945.
Mitchell says that the aliens wanted to learn about humans' military capabilities. He also adds that his own experience already made it clear that ETs are already attempting to prevent war among other nations on Earth and promote peace.
The 84 year old space veteran also grew up near the infamous Roswell site in New Mexico where he claims that he had heard from different Air Force officials that unidentified flying objects were commonly seen during the Cold War.
Mitchell added that they even told him that UFOs were also flying overhead to disable missiles since other officers based on the Pacific coast also said that their test missiles were always shot down by these alien spacecraft hovering above them.
Experts are skeptical about Mitchell's theory that aliens are being overly diplomatic, meddling with human affairs specifically, to disarm U.S. military weapons.
According to UK's Ministry of Defence UFO researcher, Nick Pope, the universe is estimated to be 14 billion years in existence and if we are being visited by these aliens, this means that this civilization could be millions of years ahead of us so aliens trying to dismantle and interrupt human missile weapons seem really far-fetched since they can do whatever they want.
