It will smell new and is presumably better and more powerful than the iPhone 6 but the iPhone 6S on release date will prove a compelling buy mainly because of two things - the build is tougher is than before and the camera is finally getting a huge bump.
In unboxing the 6S and 6S Plus in September, two key features of both devices will likely be highlighted. First, the new models will be nearly indestructible thanks to the use of 7000 Series aluminum material that was first seen with the tough and robust Apple Watch. Second, the main shooter is a step up from the 8MP iPhone 6 to 12MP and more.
Upgraded rear shooter
According to Business Insider, 12MP main camera for the iPhone 6S is already a done deal. The latest information is based on reports that mass production of 12 megapixels camera sensors is already underway. The same components, the tech publication added, will feature five-element lenses.
Now elements in camera lenses, Business Insider said, "allow a camera to capture more detailed and complex information." In other words, the more elements a camera system has the more capable it is of producing high-quality images and clips.
In the case of the iPhone 6S, its purported five-element lens would be able absorb more light and the direct result - crispier, clearer and sharper images, the report said.
Tough nut to crack
The iPhone is solid but if one is so bent on bending it, it will. This was proven last year by Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy in what became known as the Bendgate. Thankfully, what happened with the iPhone 6 will not be repeated this year.
YouTube gadget reviewer Hilsenteger obtained what he claimed as the rear shell that will be used with the iPhone 6S and subjected it to 80lbs of pressure. The same was applied to the iPhone 6. The clip showed that the older phone model was noticeably bent like it did last year.
As for the supposed next iPhone case, it was deformed yes but did not suffer that the iPhone 6. And thanks to the 7000 Series aluminum, the iPhone 6S is sure to boast of enhanced durability than its immediate predecessor. The 6S, Hilsenteger concluded, will not be destroyed unless one willfully destroys it.
Apple is hosting an event on September 9 and rumors are rife that iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be unveiled on the same day. Preorders are expected to start on the 11th while the actual release date is said to happen one week after.
