A luxurious apartment complex in central London is planning to develop a transparent aquarium-type swimming pool hanging 10 stories above the ground. City officials have already gave a green light to developers who wants to build the floating swimming pool.
The British from Ballymore Group is behind this audacious idea. The firm, together with Eco World, is tasked to finish the second construction phase of the Embassy Gardens. Ballymore chairman and chief executive officer Sean Mulryan told Today, "The experience of the pool will be truly unique. It will fell like floating through the air in Central London."
The transparent swimming pool will be 82 feet long, 16 feet wide and 10 feet wide.
Apartment spaces will be released for purchase in September. Prices per apartment space starts at £602,000 which is roughly around $944,000.
The luxurious apartment, which amounts to about £1 billion or $1.6 billion, is located just around the corner from Battersea station, a landmark made famous by the 1977 Pink Floyd album "Animal."
According to CNN, it is also located within spitting distance of the new US embassy. Many industry analysts consider the luxurious apartment as a sign of London's growing luxury property boom.
London's real estate value has surged by as much $1.5 trillion in just a span of five years. Additionally, house prices have also risen by as much as 10 percent since 2014.
The planned luxurious apartment includes a sky deck which will house a spa and a bar. It also boasts a bird's eye view of the House of Parliament and the giant Ferris wheel dubbed the London Eye.
