A Swedish model is using social media to hit out at the outrageous standards in the modelling industry since being branded as "big" despite a Body Mass Index (BMI) figure that places her in the underweight category.
Hailing from the South-East of Sweden, Agnes Hedengård 19, recently revealed via her YouTube channel the difficulties and struggles she has to endure owing to her size which has forced her to reconsider modeling as a part-time job.
The young adult says that despite a BMI figure of 17.5 where a "normal weight" BMI is between 18.5-25 she is being told to get into shape and being branded as "too big" according to the Daily Mail.
In the video that Hedengård posted online she is seen in front of a mirror attired in her undergarments and reveals to viewers that having been in the industry for five years as a model, work has now become scarce owing to new perceptions about size.
The model told viewers she is posting the video as her way of highlighting the "absurd standards" of the modeling industry.
Further she went on to say that clients have commented on her body saying her hips are too wide and have kept on urging her to become even thinner than she already is at the moment.
According to People the young Swede who is 5ft 11in has been working as amodel since 15 and despite being placed third in last year's "Sweden's Next Top Model" competition, critiques in the industry say she needs to lose more wieght if she is to secure any more jobs.
The Swedish beauty said she gave modelling one more try for a year and barely ate while counting calories and fought off anorexic thoughts to no avail. She now works as a sales assistant in Stockholm.
