It seems like Litchfield will have a population problem in the much awaited “Orange is the New Black” season 4, with new members joining the cast.
Brad William Henke, Mike Houston and Kelly Karbacz have joined the cast of season 4 in recurring roles, following Shannon Esper, who will be playing the role of Alana Dwight, one of the new inmates with a character “impossible to hate,” and Jolene Purdey, whose role is yet to be revealed, Deadline reported.
The last moments of the "OITNB" season 3 saw two buses full of inmates landing in Litchfield while Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) was sent to MAX security and Sophia (Laverne Cox) got into SHU for her own protection.
The details of the new characters are kept under tight wraps, but it is speculated that these new cast members will not be inmates but employees of the correctional facility, as the prison will be in need of management employees when it welcomes the new inmates. However, fans will have to wait and watch, what these new characters have in store.
In other news, Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) will be pissed after being attacked and almost killed and that the upcoming season will not see a timid side of her.
“I don’t think you’re going to see a more timid side of Alex. If anything, she’s justified in her paranoia... That empowers her, in my opinion,” Prepon told TVGuide.
Prepon also teased about Alex’s relationship with Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) stating that there will always be a connection between them and that they will be there for each other completely.
As for the relationship between Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren (Uzo Aduba) and Maureen Kukudio (Emily Althaus), Aduba believes that her character will be more open in expressing her feelings. Nevertheless, there is possibly no chance of friendship between Sophia and Gloria (Selenis Leyva) as Cox revealed that she can’t even imagine any relationship as it is pretty bad between them.
