Although it is highly likely that Apple will unveil the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus smartphones at a press event it will host in two weeks, a smaller 6C model with a 4-inch touchscreen will not be launched. Reportedly the tech giant is working on a mobile device that has the same display size as the iPhone 5 but with iPhone 6 internals.
9to5Mac has reported that the iPhone 6C might be unveiled within time. However, that will not happen anytime in September, including at the September 9 press event.
The latest trend in mobile phones has been bigger touchscreens. However, some consumers prefer smaller smartphones due to factors such as portability.
Last year Apple launched the big-screen iPhone 6 (4.7 inches) and iPhone 6 Plus (5.5 inches). It was later rumored that Apple might release smaller phones in 2015, including a "c" model reboot, and a screen as small as the iPhone 1, according to CBS News. Howveer, fans of small screens will have to wait.
9to5Mac's reports also indicated that the pair of iPhone 6s phones will be available in the fourth color of rose gold, to match up with the Apple Watch, according to The Verge. Other new features will likely include Force Touch, a better camera, and a quicker processor.
An earlier report from the site stated that a pink iPhone was in the works. However, it was probably referring to the rose gold model.
In other Apple news, 9to5Mac reported that the company has been developing a 3.5-inch display prototype. However, the project has been scrapped.
