According to latest reports, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be released on September 18.
Macerkopf, a technology news site in Germany and ITHome, a website in Japan, reported that the release date of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in their countries will be on September 18.
Technology observers noted that the tech giant Apple launches its new iPhones at the same time in the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and United States. However, the tech company has not declared the official release date of iPhone 6S yet.
The iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6S will feature a 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch screen, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported. Reports suggest that the two handsets will house a 32GB storage.
The present models come with the array of space gray, silver and gold options. According to rumors, Apple will introduce the pink color or rose gold with iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6S.
The iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6S will have improved camera, gesture control support, improved Touch ID and a Force Touch screen. In addition, the company had added one microphone to enhance voice quality. The two handsets are powered by an A9 processor with 2GB LPDDR4.
Furthermore, reports suggest that the upcoming iPhones will be very strong and very costly. The chassis of iPhone 6S switches from a 6000 Series aluminium construction to 7000 Series aluminium. The 7000 series aluminium is blended with zinc which makes it much harder than the 6000-series, Apple Insider reported.
The 6000 Series aluminium is common. However, 7000 Series is far more uncommon and specialized. Lewis Hilsenteger from Unbox Therapy has managed to get the iPhone 6S chassis and put it through a bend test. The iPhone 6S chassis was tested alongside the 2014 iPhone 6 chassis. The iPhone 6 bends at about 30 pounds of force, while the iPhone 6S chassis is two times tougher.
According to Unbox Therapy, 7000 Series aluminium costs 5 times more than 6000 Series aluminium. It is more susceptible to rust which means it needs a thicker anodisation process which adds significant labor.
Also, several reports suggest that the GSM Association will declare a new e-SIM standard soon. According to ZDNet, iPhone 6S could be first to do away with physical SIM card. The electronic SIM card will make it possible for people to transfer and switch plans from the mobile phone itself.
