"Mortal Kombat X" is one of the highly successful titles to come out from NetherRealm Studios this year. However, not everyone will be able to play the game, especially those who have waited for the delayed PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
The developer confirmed this via an announcement over its official WB Games Community website. Following two previous delays on the platforms, NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that it will be canceling its old-gen console editions of "Mortal Kombat X."
"Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game," said the developer over at its official website. "We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a 'Mortal Kombat' game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned."
For fans who have already preordered a copy of the old-gen versions, a full refund has been assured so long as individuals will talk to the retailer that they had preordered in.
Recently, another bit of information that may be quite the disappointment to fans was revealed by NetherRealm Studios Creative Head Ed Boon. He answered a fan posting for a possible "Terminator" add-on character, stating in a tweet that the studio had previous talked about that. While there is currently no talk of this happening, it is possible that the idea had been scrapped during production.
"Mortal Kombat X" fans are not only in store for bad news. The developer has also announced that there will be some news coming to "Mortal Kombat X" soon via its upcoming Kombat Kast on Aug. 31, iDigital Times reported. The stream is slated to reveal the patch notes for the upcoming update. But more than this, there will also be some "klues" and news, of which Boon did not expound on anymore.
The only details for the patch so far is that there will be some changes for Commando Kano. Given previous teasers from Boon, there may even be some great news for the next combat pack.
