Reportedly, the battery incorporated in the Nexus 5 (2015) will last three times longer when running on the new Android M. Prior tests indicated that when Nexus 5 runs on Android Lollipop, the battery life is 24 percent down on standby mode for 48 hours and 21 percent down within 24 hours of standby mode.
However, with the new OS, Android M, the battery life is 4.5 percent when the smartphone is on standby mode for 24 hours and 9 percent in 48 hours.
The Android M operating system has a Doze functionality that provides for the gadget to be put into deep sleep mode. This mode adds to the extended battery life because all updates, apps and features that drain the battery are disabled.
Users of Nexus 5 (2015) can go back to App Standby to further increase battery life. The application is activated every time a user unplugs the device. As a result, apps that are not active are disabled straight from the network support.
