"The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 premieres Sept. 21, 2015 and sees the long-standing couple Leonard and Penny begin their life as husband and wife. Episode 1 titled "The Matrimony Momentum" will finally provide the answer to cliffhangers from Season 8's finale. In a recent interview, show runner Steven Molaro talked about Leonard and Penny's marriage and what's next for them as a couple. According to the spoilers swirling around it may not be a smooth ride for the newlyweds. Read on to find out the details.

In an interview with TV Line, "The Big Bang Theory" boss confirms that Leonard and Penny tie the knot.
"We're nine years in and we want to keep things moving forward, as well as exciting and scary and fun. And I think this a great way to do it. Penny has had commitment issues for years and years now, especially when it comes to Leonard, and even she feels, 'How much longer are we going to go back and forth on this? Let's just jump in and hope for the best,'" Molaro said.
Molaro goes on to say that it is really only the beginning of the story. As fun and as great as it is to see them get married, that's only part of it."
But it's not all paradise for Leonard and Penny. According to Comicbook, the couple will experience occasional bumps as they embark on a new journey in "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9.
The website notes that Molaro teased the return of a woman who "Leonard once kissed on his North Sea expedition." She is reportedly expected to cause some troubles in Leonard and Penny's married life. The show runner did not give out many details. However, he promised the couple is convinced that getting married was the right thing for them to do. Previously, it was reported that the actress Melissa Tang has joined "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 cast to play the woman in question.
Meanwhile, photos for "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 premiere have been released by CBS. The pictures give a glimpse at Episode 1 "The Matrimony Momentum." The photos published on TV Line shows Penny and Leonard together all dressed up. It seems they are having an important discussion.
Photos also show Sheldon on phone. He is speculated to be talking to his ex-girlfriend Amy. The couple ended their relationship at the end of Season 8 finale.
