The tech community, especially in China, was surprised when Xiaomi announced that the Mi 4i will be released in India first. However, the Chinese tech giant is posing to release a low-cost device with high-end specs in its native land. The device is dubbed the Mi 4c.
A recent leak provide some details about the Mi 4c's specs. Many tech experts said that its specs are quite similar to the Mi 4i in many form.
Among the many specs that the Mi 4i and the Mi 4c have in common is the camera. Both devices will sport a 13-megapixel rear facing main camera and a 5-megapixel front facing secondary camera. Both will also have 2GB of internal memory along with 16GB of internal storage. The two devices will apparently have the same battery pack which pacts 3080mAh in capacity.
According to Android Authority, the Mi 4c will have a slightly powerful chipset compared to the Mi 4i. The report added that the Mi 4c will sport a Snapdragon 808 system-on-chip from Qualcomm, the same chipset that powers the LG G4. The chipset features two A57 Cortex cores and four A53 Cortex cores along with an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit.
In comparison, the Mi 4i has an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset which has the A53 Cortex processors and an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit.
According to Techno Buffalo, the Mi 4c will support USB Type-C. The device will also sport a 5-inch display screen that can render resolution of up to 1080p.
Pricing for the Xiaomi Mi 4c is predicted to be around 1,299 Chinese Yuan which is around $200. The tech community is expecting the device to be unveiled in the upcoming 2015 IFA conference in Berlin.
