Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci is opening his first New York Fashion Week show to the public. The brand will be showing in New York, instead of Paris, to mark the opening of its new 747 Madison Avenue flagship store on Sept. 11.
1,200 tickets are up for grabs for the coveted show in the town. 280 of those are already allotted to fashion students and faculty members at Parsons, FIT, the Pratt Institute and High School for Fashion Industries. Tickets will be available online from Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. on www.givenchynyfw15.com.
As seen in the photos Tisci has posted so far on Instagram, 4,300-square-foot well-lighted store features white brick walls, a mirror table with a red rug to match and a modern glass dining table with black chairs in one section.
Another area shows posters of Donatella, Givenchy's fall 2015 campaign superstar hung from the ceiling. Also shows long black-and-white blocks and hardwood floors
"STEP INTO THE G WORLD AT 747 MADISON AVENUE. SO PROUD TO HAVE DESIGNED OUR FIRST NY STORE!," Tisci wrote on his Instagram snapshots.
According to WWD, Anna Wintour and members of the Kardashian-Jenner family-luminaries and fashion industry people will be seated in a raised viewing area away from the public. Kendall Jenner is expected to be walking for the brand.
This is the first time that Givenchy is moving from Paris and presenting its Spring/Summer 2016 collection in the United States, Elle reported.
The runway show will be organized under the administration of Tisci. Italian fashion designer has collaborated with performance artist Marina Abramovic.
