Japanese smartphone maker Sony has just pushed the tech industry closer to the future after it announced the first-ever 4K display smartphone during the IFA 2015 event in Berlin this week.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the world's first smartphone to boast an Ultra HD resolution display. The device boasts some serious specs that definitely aim to be at the top of the food chain.
According to the report by The Sydney Morning Herald, the Xperia Z5 Premium packs a 5.5-inch display, a Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm, 3GB of RAM, and a 32GB built-in storage that can be expanded via the microSD card.
For consumers worrying about the oveheating rumors and issues surrounding the S810, the Japanese manufacturer may have found a way to alleviate the problem.
In an alleged teardown of the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, the handset has been revealed to get a dual-heat pipe to take care of all the heat that Qualcomm's chip produces. In addition, Sony appeared to use a lot of heat-resistant paste for the device.
Meanwhile, other notable specs of the new Android flagship include a slightly higher resolution 23MP camera that can shoot UHD videos as well. A 5.1MP shooter is located in front for the usual selfies and video calls.
The Xperia Z5 Premium runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, but only has a 3,430mAh battery, which may not be enough to last an entire day with all the juice needed to power the 4K display.
Rounding up the specs list are some flagship-level features that include water and dust resistance, a fingerprint scanner, and fast-charging.
