After "Sense8" got renewed for a season 2, many fans wondered when the highly anticipated release date of the Netflix original series would be.
As pointed out by Fansided, most of the Netflix original series release their new seasons the same time the first season premiered. For instance, season 1 of "House of Cards" premiered on Feb. 1, 2013, season 2 on Feb. 14, 2014 and season 3 on Feb. 27, 2015.
Since "Sense8" season 1 aired on June 5 this year, the publication speculated that season 2 will air on June 2016. It was said that it will probably be available on Netflix come June 3, 2016.
Back in July, the producers and cast members claimed that they still had no idea if the series would be renewed. The outlet noted that the two month-wait would not make any difference compared to other series. However, given that Sense8's first season took almost seven months to film, the June 2016 release date may be a bit of a stretch.
That is unless, the cast and crew have already anticipated the renewal and prepared scripts and scouted renewals even before the announcement.
In an interview with Collider, creator/writer/executive producer J. Michael Straczynski admitted that they already have a five-year plan for the series. He shared that even before Netflix confirmed the renewal, they already have plans for season 2. He also mentioned that they have an idea on what will happen for season 3-5.
Straczynski explained that before starting a series, he needed to know how the story would end. He pointed out that when he did "Babylon 5," he already knew what the last episode would be like, years before it premiered.
