Singer Katy Perry was out in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada attending the Burning Man Festival riding a Segway, which turned out to be an epic fail as she had two perfect 360-degree turns when suddenly she took a misstep and fell off the machine.
According to New Zealand Herald, in the video clip that became viral, which Katy Perry herself posted on Instagram and captioned it "Obvious first time burner alert," it can be seen that she was wearing a pair of goggles and a black bandana to protect herself from the gusting sand storm when she span around twice before she fell off the Segway. Her ride then took off and she had to chase it down-and was laughing afterward.
Perry's mishap reminded many of a scene in "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," wherein Blart tried to dodge a sofa while riding a Segway, according to Huffington Post.
In her next uploaded video on Sept. 7, it showed that her very supportive father, Maurice Hudson, was teaching her how to ride the Segway-he was saying, "Hey bird, you need lessons, so this is how you do it." And he indeed showed her how to ride it like a pro.
Furthermore, in the latter same video, her father showed her a spin with only one hand on the Segway. She then applauded him with a "Bravo, Dad!" And it looked like that the "The One That Got Away" singer enjoyed her time in the Black Rock Desert even though with the first time riding in Segway became an epic fail for her.
