Nokia is rumored to reenter the smartphone market soon and the likelihood is the once mighty mobile device maker will debut an exciting handset before the end of 2015. Users may just get hold of the Nokia C1, running on Android, very soon, a new report said.
According to Phone Arena, the details known so far on the Nokia C1 indicate that it is designed not to tussle directly with the likes of the iPhone 6S, the Galaxy S6 and the Nexus 2015. In other words, the C1 is not a flagship device but it can surely become a flagship killer.
Here are the ways the Nokia C1 can outpace its leading rivals out there:
Gorgeous design and solid build
The same Phone Arena report was accompanied by a phone concept that showcased a Nokia C1 that is slim with unibody design that is both beautiful and solid. The same design approach is mostly identified with Apple's iPhone and it appears that Nokia is aiming to provide an alternative that is pretty and likely more affordable.
In another C1 visualization that BGR said was authored by Twitter user Kim Wayne, the Android Nokia phone was shown in a simple and attractive render. The same report described as the Nokia device as the company's long-delayed game changer.
Decent specs
The Nokia C1 will likely not measure up with flagship phones in terms of upscale specifications but as noted by Phone Arena the specs to come out of the box should be capable enough. The screen is likely a 5-inch HD display and under the hood, the power is sourced from the tandem of an Intel Atom chip and 2GB of RAM.
The camera combo may not be jaw-dropping but should serve the purpose of most users with the rear shooter at 8MP and the front-facing a selfie-friendly 5MP.
Android OS
As BGR said, it might have been a different story had Nokia picked Android over Windows years ago but now is the time to know if the operating system will really make a difference. But the Google mobile OS on the iconic phone brand may just attract hordes of fans to the Nokia C1 this time around.
Nokia name recall
Along the same line, a Nokia-branded phone may just strike a sentimental chord on consumers and prompt them to try the label anew, Phone Arena said, which could lead to high sales figures. Once upon a time, Nokia was the definition of mobile devices and the C1 could serve as the trigger for the Finnish company to relive its old glory.
Accessible price
Nothing is written on stone for now but the hope is the Nokia C1 release date will happen soon after Google has rolled out its Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Phone Arena said, adding that since the phone is an entry-level the sticker price is expected to be consumer-friendly. But no specific figure is being floated at the moment.
