Today marks the end of this year's IFA event in Berlin, and unlike the previous IFAs, there are reportedly few surprises this time around.
Unlike recent IFA showcases in the past, there are a few smartphones that were unveiled during the event, primarily because other manufacturers opted to announce their devices almost a month earlier.
Meanwhile, for tech geeks, here are some of the main highlights of the event as reported by Engadget.
Sony Xperia Z5, and Company
This year, the Japanese manufacturer unveiled its newest flagship, the Xperia Z5, although it only has similar Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution to its flagship predecessors. However, the Xperia Z5 Premium is in another level altogether as it is the world's first smartphone that boasts 4K (3,840 x 2160) resolution display.
Huawei Mate S
Rumored for over a month prior to IFA, the Mate S is an Android phablet that boasts a 5.5-inch 2.5D display from Gorilla Glass, a 13MP primary shooter with OIS (optical image stabilization), and a fingerprint sensor dubbed 'Knuckle Sense 2.0'.
Samsung Gear S2
After countless rumors, Tizen-powered smartwatch is finally out, and reports mentioned that it is one, if not the most stylish Samsung smartwatch to date. Its specs include a 1.2-inch circular AMOLED display, a navigation bezel, and a black leather strap.
Motorola Moto 360 2015
The new Moto 360 provides improvements for Motorola's stylish smartwatch, adds more strap options, and makes user experience better. Unfortunately, the circular wearable device still has the 'flat-tire' design flaw.
Huawei Watch
Hitting the United States market on the 17th is the Huawei Watch. Also coming in a number of material options, the Huawei Watch comes in stainless steel, rose gold plated, or ceramic. It packs a 1.4-inch display, a powerful Snapdragon 400 chip, and 512MB of RAM.
Asus ZenWatch 2
The $170-190 smartwafch is considered the cheapest smartwatch of the bunch that were announced at the IFA this year. It reportedly comes in two versions, has a Snapdragon 400 as well, an AMOLED display, and water and dust resistance. It sells worldwide beginning next month.
Polaroid Snap
Revolutionizing the way polaroid cameras are used, the Polaroid Snap enables the user to print images right away without the need of an ink. While the image paper is priced at $25 for 50 pieces, the digital polaroid camera is a nice gadget to bring in any occasion.
Samsung SleepSense Tracker
This health-related device enables the user to keep track of his sleep patterns, and save them on his smartphone. The device hits the Korean market by the end of the year, though no word has come out yet whether it will arrive in other countries as well.
