"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder will reportedly direct an episode from the upcoming seventh season.
Just recently, the actor who plays the role of Damon Salvatore, posted a photo of himself as Damon standing behind the camera.
Fans immediately speculated that he will be directing an episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.
However, there is still no word on whether or not this will happen. It is an impossible thing though because Somerhalder's co-star, Paul Wesley, previously directed an episode from season 6.
Meanwhile, "The Vampire Diaries" cast members Annie Wersching and Michael Malarkey have been sharing photos from the set of The CW series.
On their respective Instagram accounts, Wersching and Malarkey shared photos with their co-stars Somerhalder and Zach Roerig, according to MTV News.
In other news, the upcoming seventh season of "The Vampire Diaries" will primarily focus on the Salvatore brothers' relationship with their mom, Lily.
As the head of Heretics, Lily will remain loyal to her fellow hybrids. This means that she would prioritize them over her own children.
During a recent interview, executive producer Julie Plec said that Stefan, more than Damon, will try to relate to their mother more.
Meanwhile, season 7 will also focus on Caroline and Stefan's budding relationship. There are rumors that Candice Accola's real-life pregnancy will be written as part of season seven's storyline. If this were to push through, Caroline could be pregnant with Stefan's baby, according to TV Line.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. ET.
