Tennis player Serena Williams defeated her sister, Venus Williams, in the quarterfinals of the 2015 U.S. Open on Saturday. It's only the quarters but the stands were filled with so many VIPs and celebrities, that it could easily have been mistaken for a final match.
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian was spotted by Sky Sports as she was entering the venue in Flushing Meadows, New York. Serena is a close family friend of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. In several previous occasions, she has been seen hanging out with Kendall Jenner and her high profile squad composed of models and musicians.

The reason behind all the hype and attention is Serena's bid to become the first woman to achieve a Grand Slam in a calendar year after 27 years. The last female tennis player who won all major tournaments in a year is Steffi Graf, who did it way back in 1988.
According to SB Nation, If Serena wins the US OPen this year, she will not only win all Grand Slam events in 2015, she will also tie Graf's record of 22 Grand Slam Singles Titles. after winning the US Open in 2014, this would also be her fifth consective Grand Slam Title.
At 7:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, she will be facing Italy's Roberta Vinci on her way to the final match. If she makes it into the final, she will be attempting to make histtory on Saturday, against either Simona Halep or Flavia Penetta.
