The "Fast and Furious" team will be moving on from the emotional tone it had in James Wan's "Fast and Furious 7."
As per Entertainment Weekly, Wan's "Furious 7" saw tribute to the death of Paul Walker, one of the film's main characters. Walker played the role of Brian in the franchise and in Wan's film, the actor's younger brothers Caleb Walker and Cody Walker were cast to play his role, in coordination with CGI. This way, Paul's character will remain in the film, rather than killing the character.
Seeing Paul's character in "Furious 7" gave the film a touching close, which helped the film one of the best installments of the franchise, as per Cinema Blend. Along with the fans' appreciation for the franchise, fans' admiration to the late actor made the film the fifth highest grossing film of all time.
Meanwhile, Vin Diesel, one of the main casts of the franchise, recently paid homage to his late friend Paul during his speech at the Teen Choice Awards. In the said event, Diesel gave fans a hint that the film sequel is going to be "Fast 8." Diesel also suggested the forthcoming installment to be called "F8" or "Fate," which the "Fast and Furious" franchise could inject into its marketing campaign.
Aside from Diesel, "Fast and Furious 8" also stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, with Cody Walker rumored to play the role of Jack O'Conner. The film also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, among others.
Directed by Justin Lin, "Fast and Furious 8" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Apr. 14, 2017.
