The Association of Independent Music awards celebrated another successful year of alternative music as it announced the winners on Sept. 8, Tuesday.
Robert Pattinson's fiancee FKA twigs has won Independent Track of the Year award at the 2015 AIM Independent Music Awards in Derby, England. The British singer, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, won the award for her track, "Two Weeks," which is from her debut full-length album "LP1."
The "Glass & Patron" singer was dressed in an all-black ensemble, as she accepted the award. She parted her hair sideways and wore red lip color.
Twigs were overjoyed after her award and thanked her family for all the creative support.
"I write, produce and direct my videos and my creative family are all people that I know, so to be here and be acknowledged for that just makes me really grateful," twigs told the BBC after her win.
FKA Twigs, Skepta, Young Fathers, Wolf Alice, Flying Lotus, Swans, and Jungle were among the winners at this year's AIM Awards.
The ceremony was hosted by XFM's John Kennedy and Radio 1's Alice Levine. The music gala featured live performances from Alvvays and budding grime star, Stormzy.
Among the highlights was Michael Eavis presenting Enter Shikari with Independent Album of The Year for their "The Mindsweep,"record. Wolf Alice was given the Independent Breakthrough of the Year award, as reported by The Guardian.
Swans fairly awarded the Hardest Working Band Award. Flying Lotus was recognized for the sensational visuals of 'Never Catch Me' receiving the Independent Video of the Year Award.
Stormzy closed the ceremony, which celebrates independent music and artists.
