"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 will see Kensi and Deeks handling the romance side. However, this will not be the only couple romantically relating on the show as Eric and Nell's love affair will not entirely be on the backburner.
In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Shane Brenna said, "We certainly see more of that relationship," he said. "It's obviously not as developed as Kensi and Deeks' relationship, but there's definitely more fun to be had there."
Concerning personal growth of the characters, Brenna teased about Eric. According to the showrunner, Eric will get a new skill that may not be welcoming to everyone.
Brenna said, "Sam is going to give Eric weapons training. For those who have watched from the beginning, you realize this is fraught with danger - for everyone!"
Meanwhile, fans are eager to see the crossover between "NCIS" and "NCIS: LA," which will take place in an episode of the latter that will air on Oct. 19. During the crossover, Agent Tony DiNozzo will leave for Los Angeles, and star Michael Weatherly teased that his journey will be quite fascinating.
Weatherly told Entertainment Weekly, "There's a hilarious conceit for my presence which is that this guy who is a witness to some scurrilous wrongdoing is being brought back from Singapore. He disappears and we have to find him in L.A. He keeps disappearing."
This controversial case will make DiNozzo to collaborate with Deeks, which is interesting and Eric Christian Olsen (Deeks) has been waiting for such an opportunity. In fact, Olsen acknowledges Weatherly's skill in acting and his flexibility that allows him to be efficient in both comedy and drama.
"NCIS: LA" season 7 will debut on Sept. 21 with episode 1 titled "Active Measures."
