Tech giant Apple recently unveil its latest iPad Pro along with the company's first ever stylus aptly called Apple Pencil. The announcement was made alongside the two new iPhone models, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
The new iPad Pro sports a 12.9-inch retina display which is significantly larger compared to the iPad Air 2 which has a display screen of 9.7-inch. The larger display screen of the new iPad have led many industry experts to peg it within the laptop or at least the netbook territory. The larger display screen also opened up new features like the inclusion of a full-sized keyboard embedded into the tablet's software.
The massive display can render resolution of up to 2732 x 2048 which rounds up to nearly 6 million pixels. In comparison, the new iPad holds more pixel than the 15-inch MacBook Pro, according to Gizmondo.
Despite the massive upgrade on the tablet's display screen, Apple was able to squeeze every bit of hardware into a device that is only 6.9mm thick. The iPad Air 2 is 6.1mm thick. Despite its slim build, the iPad Pro is not the lightest gadget in the market and weighs around 1.54 pounds.
Perhaps the biggest feature added to the new iPad is the Apple Pencil which opens up a lot of functionality to the tablet. For one, the Pencil is designed for technical drawing and is aimed for designers as well as professional artists.
The introduction of the Force Touch technology also allows the Pencil to respond to different level of pressures as well as various angels. This allows the device to deliver a more precise drawing on the tablet's screen.
On the other hand, Microsoft also announced that it is bringing the Microsoft Office suite into the iPad Pro.
Microsoft Office chief Kirk Koenigsbauer told The Verge, "At Microsoft we really believe that bringing together the iPad Pro with Microsoft Office - the ink, the multitasking capabilities - will really transform the way people work on these type of devices."
The new iPad Pro will be available in November.
